The Guild was originally the Sports Club for major employer ‘John Dickinson’.
When they merged in 1980 with the Robinsons Paper Group, they moved the company to Bristol. They left the grounds however, in perpetuity, for recreational use. Thus in 1987, the current club was formed for that purpose.
The club is a private members club – BUT is open to everyone in the locality for a modest annual membership fee
